Every day, we consider how to protect ourselves. In a world when violence, fury, and hatred are rampant, how should we respond? Our duty is to provide for the safety of our families and children who are in danger. Can we take any action to safeguard them from harm? How can we ask God to make sure they are safe and protected?
We may all use prayer as a powerful tool to defend ourselves and our loved ones against the evil that exists all around us thanks to God. Here are several protection-related prayers that can help you communicate with God if that’s what you’re after.
1. A Daily Prayer for Protection
Lord God, I ask for Your protection as I begin this day. You are my secure harbor, and I may always seek safety in Your care. Keep evil at bay and keep me safe wherever I go. I will turn to You as my Protector, Who fights for me every day, wherever I am. Because Your love and faithfulness, as well as Your compassion and mercy, surround me on a daily basis, I will not be afraid of anything. I put my trust in You, God, and I thank You for Your goodness and protection. Amen.
2. A Prayer for Your Children’s Protection
Father, I entrust my children to Your loving care. I pray that You keep them safe and present at all times because You are the most significant influence in their lives. Because you adore children, you are much more concerned than I am. You’re concerned about their well-being. Put Your Holy Spirit like a bubble around them, protecting them from harm. Keep children safe at school, whether it’s from the outside or the inside. Your angels should be stationed in strategic areas, ready to intervene on their behalf. Please keep anything horrible from happening to them
Give them faith and trust in You that will quiet their fears and comfort them that they will be safe under Your careful eye. Keep them safe from temptation and those who might try to persuade them to change their minds. Allow them to cry out to You, their Deliverer and Refuge, when they are in trouble. May their security come from their relationship with You and their eternal future, rather than from this world. Make it obvious to them every day that this world is not their last destination and that nothing or no one will ever be able to separate them from Your love. In Jesus’ beautiful name, amen.
3. A Prayer for Protection Against Evil
Dear God, keep your angels close by, removing fear and opposing unseen spiritual powers. Assist us in destroying every fantasy and concept that our adversary employs to raise itself against You.
You dealt a critical blow to our spiritual enemies when you died on the cross for us and rose on the third day. While darkness roams, the power of Your name and blood rises to destroy and deliver us from every evil plot against us. While evil acts may unsettle us, we stand firm in the armor You have given us.
You will bring justice for all of Your children’s agony and pointless violence in due time. Until that time, we shall stay in Your presence, dedicated to Your objectives, and look to You as our Supreme Commander and Protector. Lord, assist us to avoid temptation and to be delivered from evil. You are the Mighty One, the One Who will eventually reveal all evil. We are safe in Your hands, Jesus, Amen.
4. A Prayer for Protection at Work
Dear Jesus, Set an invisible banner over us to remind us of Your loving protection and the fact that we are Yours.
Because you recognize our work, you keep us from being lazy or having incorrect priorities. Keep ourselves from becoming irritated or angry when others criticize us or when there is misunderstanding. Protect us from our sinful nature and help us to always choose compassion when dealing with upset customers or employees. Thank You for Your promise that You would never abandon us. Amen
Add the following 4 Psalms that Remind You God is Near, and you are fully protected.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.”
