Hi, what are you looking for?

Manchester United player ratings this season so far as Raphael Varane and Christian Eriksen great

Let some soft goals in against Brighton and Brentford where he looked uncomfortable with the ball at his feet but has recovered respectably with three clean sheets. Made some good saves against Liverpool and Leicester. 6

Only one of two outfield players who have started all eight games and he has improved in defence and attack, helping United keep three clean sheets and assisting Bruno Fernandes at Southampton. 8

United’s most important player. They have conceded two goals in 495 minutes with Varane on the pitch, won all five games he has started and lost the three he hasn’t started. 9

Recovered from a chastening start to impose himself superbly against Liverpool and he has been excellent ever since. His distribution is as much of an asset as his uncompromising defending. 8

Was okay in defeat to Brighton but aimless in the thrashing by Brentford and has not regained his place. Even his brief appearance against Arsenal was marred by a cynical booking. 3

Played only once due to injury and was untroubled at centre-back in the first-half against Real Sociedad but struggled at right-back in the second. 5

Unfortunate not to start the season and has shown why with his performances since. Had a taxing time against Bukayo Saka but still emerged with credit. 8

Fortunate to start the season and it showed against Brighton and Brentford, where he was hauled off at the pause. Had a minor foot injury and has not started since. 2

The best thing that happened to him was he was dropped at Brentford after an awful display against Brighton. McTominay has performed gradually and kept Casemiro benched. 7

Had some impressive impacts off the bench but struggled in his only start against Real Sociedad and is yet to get up to speed. 6

Poor in both defeats and even worse against Sociedad, although he was inexplicably played as the No.10. Not been helped by his positioning in most starts but not rallied, either. 4

Has to be a shoo-in for United’s September player of the month and worthy of nomination for the Premier League equivalent. Been United’s best player in their last four games and key against Liverpool. 9

Gently grown into his role as the captain and had his best performance against Arsenal. Scored at a vital time against Southampton to overshadow a problematic performance and he has been consistent in recent weeks. 7

Scored nervelessly on his debut against Arsenal when he was otherwise on the periphery. Quiet against Sociedad and more involved in Moldova. 6

Contributed to United’s revival against Liverpool, assisting Jadon Sancho, and kept his place for the next two games but struggled to have an impact at Southampton and Leicester. 6

Already has three goals this season when he did not hit that mark until February last season. Still prone to meandering through games but his impacts have been more pronounced. 7

Struck the winner against Liverpool and Arsenal, whilst also providing a couple of key assists. What Rashford lacks in presence as a centre forward he has made up for with his output from the left whenever he moves there. 7

Had a variable start to the season and has had to adjust to starting on the bench. Yet to perform in any of his three starts but had decent impacts off the bench against Leicester and Arsenal. 6
