LIONEL MESSI and Cristiano Ronaldo have been battling it out on the pitch for the best part of 15 years
Widely regarded as two of the greatest to ever lace up a pair of boots, the pair boast truly astonishing statistics, accomplishing more or less everything there is to achieve in the game.
But it isn’t just their on-field duels which catch the eye these days.
Messi and Ronaldo also rival one another when it comes to their off-pitch stats.
The pair are dead level on £48million each when it comes to the annual amount they generate through endorsement deals.
Ronaldo has the edge when it comes to the revenue he generates through each Instagram post – £1.2m to Messi’s £1.05m.
The Portuguese superstar also outguns the Argentine when it comes to his property empire – boasting a portfolio worth £43m compared with Messi’s £17m.
However, that is excluding Messi’s current pad in Paris which he is renting for an eye-watering £17,260 per month.
And there are a couple of other big categories in which Messi dwarfs Ronaldo.
His car collection comes to £28m, £9m more than Ronaldo’s.
Overall, Messi also has the higher net worth by £87m – with the South American thought to be worth more than HALF A BILLION.
And that is only going to increase as he is currently earning more than Ronaldo – with PSG paying him £65m per year compared with the Man Utd man’s annual salary of £52m.
Messi also topped Forbes’ most recent list of the best-paid athletes in the world – with Ronaldo down in third behind LeBron James.
Between May 2021 and May 2022, Messi reportedly earned £113m compared to Ronaldo’s £100m.
