Why NDC Should Appoint and Not Elect Communication Officers

Published

on

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is gearing towards contesting the 2024 general elections after losing to the New Patriotic Party In Both 2016 and 2020, the National Democratic Congress Went to court in 2020 to challenge the results announced by the Electoral Commission headed by Jean Mensa.

The Chief Justice, His Lordship Aning Yeboah declared the case brought forward by National Democratic Congress as inadmissible.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has finished with it’s internal elections from branch level to Constituency up to Regional and National Elections.

The National Democratic Congress completed Their Branch elections in August, the Constituency Elections are set to take place and the party will elect the usual executives communication officers and 8 other executives.

One mistake I think the National Democratic Congress is making us electing Communication Officers when they should be appointed. Communication is a very sensitive part of political stability and any party that prioritizes electing Communication Officers will always fail to communicate.

What if your opponent sponsors People weak in communication to win the Elections, what will happen to effectiveness of your communication, bear in mind the opposition will do everything possible to ensure you fail to deliver relevant messages across by ensuring you elect the incompetent ones, but once you decide to Appoint, a political party gearing toward coming to power should have a well resourced, smart and well vested Communication team ‘selected’ by people in Authority based on merit, this can be done by random selection from some group of enlightened and naturally gifted communicators within a political party.

Appointing Reliable forces for any party will give the party more opportununity to win any election in the World.

The National Democratic Congress’s Communication is headed by Mr. Sammy Gyamfi, the national communication Officer and A Practicing Lawyer Elected in 2018.
